A renowned gastronomic destination, nestled on the banks of the Saône in the heart of a bucolic, rolling wine-growing countryside (a succession of hedged meadows, rivers, beautiful wild forests, and vineyard-covered hillsides), this charming town, with its striking colorful facades lending it an unusual Mediterranean charm, is crisscrossed by gentle pedestrian streets. It boasts all amenities, an invaluable heritage, notably Romanesque (Saint-Philibert Abbey from the 10th and 11th centuries, Hôtel-Dieu, 12th-century Romanesque churches, Gothic houses, buildings from the Middle Ages to the 18th century, private mansions, Roman remains, etc.), and a unique level of sports and leisure facilities.
